Creating a duplex in this late 60’s Co-op proved challenging. The concrete structure limited possible location options and the size of the opening for the new stair.  Using these limitations to our advantage, we created a deco stair in keeping with the design intent.  Its open, fluid lines vertically anchor the floors and tie the two living spaces together. We located the stair just to the east of the entry providing the WOW vertical element while maintaining the openness to the spectacular views down Park Avenue. Collaborating with Babs Reiff, the interior designer who developed the sleek design of the living area, we extended and elaborated on the details and finishes creating a cohesive design.
