In purchasing an adjacent apartment, our clients had the good fortune that the living rooms backed up with shared fireplaces. This allowed for the creation of an open and flowing living area centered around a fireplace on one side and the family’s entertainment center on the other. The project was phased to allow the family to live in designated areas of the apartment during construction. When at the very end, the demising wall finally came down, the spaciousness and lightness of this newly combined apartment were truly evident. There was a conscious goal to incorporate green materials such as bamboo and energy efficient lighting. The result is a very serene, spacious and resolved environment.
