Bauhaus Museum, Dessau

For the centenary anniversary of the Bauhaus, the seminal school for architecture in the 20th century, the city of Dessau in Germany called for a competition to build a museum for their vast collection of artifacts associated with the Bauhaus in Dessau. Our design proposes a 2-storey courtyard building with the permanent collection located in second floor. Adjacent to the entry, which opens towards the city as well as towards the surrounding park, a generous and double height space for temporary exhibitions relates to the city square in front of the building.
