For our contribution to Sunbrella’s Future of Shade competition 2016 we developed a versatile module that can be freely combined to provide shade in the public sphere, creating an ephemeral canopy with minimal vertical support. The individual modular elements are designed and ergonomically proportioned that they can be used as outdoor seating, allowing for the same element to serve multiple functions, and to provide for a flexible and homogenous system for outdoor furnishing.
