Museum Glentleiten: The competition for a new museum building in Glentleiten in Southern Bavaria, Germany, is part of a large open-air museum ensemble on vernacular architecture in Southern Germany. The proposed new entry building is broken up into three distinct and interlocked volumes that follow the topography of the site. A new exhibition hall connects to the open-air exhibition via a landscaped park. A roof terrace as part of the visitor’s café offers a vantage point over the entire museum area. The buildings are constructed in local wood construction as a contemporary vernacular interpretation of local tradition.
